Talk ‘N Play Therapy is a therapist-owned pediatric speech therapy company that aims to help children reach their full communication potential. We are a neurodiversity-affirming practice and embrace each child’s unique needs, giving them the space to be their authentic selves.
Neurodiversity refers to the differences in the human brain that affect learning and behavior. To be neurodiversity-affirming is to embrace these differences and see them as natural, not as something that needs to be “fixed.” At Talk ‘N Play, we honor and celebrate the whole person.

Talk ‘N Play recognizes that all children develop communication at their own pace. We tailor your child’s therapy to align with their specific natural learning progression.
We also believe all children should have access to a mode of communication that allows them to express themselves.
For children who are non-speaking, we value and support multimodal communication, including the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).

Talk ‘N Play uses a child-led therapy approach to speech therapy. This means we follow your child’s lead and build our therapy sessions around the things your child likes to do or play with.
We understand that there is no wrong way to play! All forms of play provide outlets for self-expression, exploration of new ideas, and development of new skills.
That is why every speech therapy session at Talk ‘N Play looks unique.
Meet Your Speech Therapist
Vanessa Miller, M.A., CCC-SLP
Owner, Speech-Language Pathologist
Vanessa is an engaging and empathetic speech therapist who is a mother to two young children who are Gestalt Language Processors (GLPs).
She has experienced firsthand how difficult it can be to find providers who are neurodiversity-affirming and knowledgeable in the unique communication development of GLPs, and this is what led her to open Talk ‘N Play Therapy.
Vanessa’s approach to therapy is fun and playful. She follows the child’s lead while incorporating sensory-based movement activities, songs, and engaging toys. Vanessa is passionate about including families in the therapy process so that everyone feels supported and understood.
Outside of work, Vanessa enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, watching sporting events and movies, and practicing yoga.

Step 2: Evaluation
Services start with an evaluation of your child’s communication skills. We will discuss the results and create a treatment plan tailored to your child’s unique strengths and needs.
Step 3: Let’s Talk ‘N Play!
We will work with you to determine the length and frequency of speech therapy sessions that will best support your child’s goals. Then the fun begins!
Talk ‘N Play Therapy is currently an out-of-network provider with insurance. We will provide you with the necessary forms to submit to your insurance for out-of-network reimbursement.
